I have been playing music professionally for over 40 years. I was born into a musical family in Kentucky. In the mid 1970's, while I was in the Marine Corps,  I was accepted into the U.S. Marine Jazz Ensemble, in Washington, D. C.

In 1980, I formed "The Russell Brothers Band" with my brother, Steve.

I toured the country performing as an opening act for many country music stars of the 1980's and early 1990's.

In 1992, I moved to Gainesville, Florida to form "Dark Blue", a Blues based Rock Band. This band toured nationally until 1996, opening shows and playing various Club venues.

In 1996, I ventured out on my own as an independent guitarist. I recorded and performed with Bo Diddley, The Dixie All-Stars, The Magnates, and many other artists.

In 2000, I met Karen Seals. I left the road and started Blue Ribbon Productions.

Blue Ribbon is a full service music production company. I record, mix, and produce original CDs. I also teach lessons from beginner to advanced, in guitar, keyboard, banjo, mandolin, violin, dobro, pedal steel, bass, drums, and harmonica.

My first priority, however, is Musical Performance.  I love to play, any style, any time!  My repertoire includes Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, Classic Country, Bluegrass, Folk, and music from the 1940's to the present.
